Level 2 Award for Designated Premises Supervisors
Under the Licensing Act 2003, anyone authorising the retail sale of alcohol will have to hold a personal licence as well as a premises licence. As part of the conditions of the premises licence a Designated Premises Supervisor needs to be appointed.
At present the Licensing Act 2003 fails to provide a job description for the role of DPS, however it does provide a penalty of up to £20,000 and or six months imprisonment, should the DPS fail to perform their duties.
Who is it for
The qualification is nationally recognised and is designed for anyone authorising the retail The ADPS is nationally recognised qualification for both existing DPS' and those who may be required to take up this post in he future, working in any type of licensed premises selling alcohol including:
- pubs and bars
- off-licences, supermarkets and convenience stores
- hotels and restaurants
- nightclubs and entertainment establishment
- sports and social clubs
- any other venue or site where alcohol is sold.
