BIIAB Level 2 Award In Drugs Awareness for Licensed Hospitality Staff (ADA)

The qualification has been designed to raise awareness of the illegal drugs scene, and gives delegates a basic knowledge of the law relating to the misuse and supply of controlled drugs on licensed premises. The course provides guidelines to help deal with any drug related problems in the venue and advice on the development of strategies to prevent such problems arising.

It is designed for people running licensed premises in England and Wales and is designed to give them operational guidelines to help prevent and deal effectively with any drug related problem in their premises.

The comprehensive one day course includes:

general drug trends and who to approach for information.

drug legislation which may affect licensed premises

the need for multi-agency liaison and the importance of partnerships with the relevant authorities

how to initiate, implement and monitor a drug strategy

how to carry out a needs assessment

how to deal with drug users and dealers

how to comply with the legal requirements in relation to found or confiscated drugs

how to eliminate drugs from your premises

how to comply with the requirements of public safety

Outcomes

By the end of the course the delegate will have a clear understanding of how to create a Zero Tolerance policy for their premises and maintain compliance with the law.
