What is the BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders?
Under the Licensing Act 2003, anyone authorising the retail sale of alcohol will have to hold a personal licence. In order to qualify for a personal licence, an applicant must hold a licensing qualification. BIIAB’s new qualification, the BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders, is both QCA accredited and Government approved, and has been specifically designed to meet the statutory requirements of the Licensing Act 2003.
Who is the BIIAB Level 2 National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders for?
The qualification is nationally recognised and is designed for anyone authorising the retail sale of alcohol in licensed premises including:
- pubs and bars
- hotels and restaurants
- sports and social clubs
- off-licences, supermarkets and convenience stores
- nightclubs and entertainment establishment
- and any other venue or site where alcohol is sold.

Duration and Cost:
Designed to be completed in a day (although longer tuition or self-study options may be available), and includes a short multiple-choice exam. A comprehensive handbook, presented in an easy-to-follow format, supports the qualification and covers all the information needed for the examination.
